2015 Novice Tournament
2015-01-05The Brockville Junior Brave Novice program held its annual tournament this weekend with amazing results. The tournament had 32 teams enter. 16 “C” and 16 “B” teams. Our local boys and girls faired very well.

In the “C” division each team advanced to the semi-finals from their respective pools. The Brockville C1 team took on the Brockville C2 team in one semi-final and the Brockville C3 team took on Alexandria in the other semi-final. Brockville C2 and Brockville C3 both advanced with tightly fought games to the finals. Brockville C2 defeated Brockville C1 in overtime to secure their place the gold medal game. Brockville C2 claimed the tournament Crown and the MVP for the Brockville C3 team was Matthew Warren and the MVP for the winning C2 team was Riley Vanderbaren.
In the B Division. Brockville B1 defeated Kemptville in overtime to advance the to the finals and Brockville B2 defeated South Grenville by scoring with 30 seconds left to secure their place in the final game. Both teams went undefeated in pool play. This game was a nail-biter as well with both teams exchanging goals back and forth. The game was set to go to overtime and with 8 seconds let Michael McGlynn scored the eventual game winner.
